His experience as Africa Program Manager at the Environmental Investigation Agency in Washington, D.C., honed his skills in strategic planning and program execution, while his leadership as Deputy Mayor of Cotonou showcased his commitment to community engagement and effective governance. As Senior Environment & Climate Advisor to the President of Benin, he played a pivotal role in implementing the Paris Agreement, establishing crucial environmental funds and divisions, and driving sustainable practices at a national level.

Raphael Edou’s passion for community development is further exemplified by his leadership as CEO of Bethesda Benin, where he championed community health, job creation, and microfinance programs. His entrepreneurial spirit and commitment to economic empowerment led him to co-found a business aimed at supporting the Francophone African community in the US and Africa.
